Person-Centered Integrative Counselling
What does this actually mean?
The core of my approach is the Person-Centered approach focusing on the individuals’ unique experiences and perspectives. However, I do integrate other modalities such as CBT, ACT and Solution Focused Therapy if I feel it would benefit the client. I will encourage you to bring your own challenges to sessions where we can work collaboratively to support you. In working in an integrative way offering a safe, non-judgmental empathic space I hope to build self-esteem and self-confidence, leading you to discover your own capabilities and strengths to cope with current and future challenges.
“I realise that if I were stable and steady and static, I would be living death. So, I accept confusion and uncertainty and fear and emotional highs and lows because they are the price I willingly pay for a flowing, perplexing, exciting life’ ”
I believe this sums up the complexities of human behaviour and highlights the need to provide the core conditions. The situation may not change, but the way in which you approach it can change given the right support, which I believe is person-centred at the core, but implementing different modalities when appropriate.
How long does the process take?
There is no time limit. I am very happy to work long term or short term which is very much down to the individual. We all have different needs, and I am happy to work with you to decide how many sessions you would like. Either way, I will work with you.
How will I know where to start?
To be brief…anywhere you like! These sessions are your time, and you can decide how to use them. Often people find that once they start talking it unlocks other thought processes that we can explore. I often encourage clients to be as open and honest as they can, as this can be helpful. But the focus is on YOU and you can start where you feel most comfortable.

Teenagers have a complicated world to navigate, from growing up with social media, friendship issues, low self-esteem and the effects of experiencing a global pandemic. I can offer a space for teenagers to speak freely without fear of judgment about what is bothering them.
